Sultan Ulutas
Sultan Ulutaş Alopé was born on 18 January in Istanbul, Türkiye. She is an actress and playwright. After initially studying engineering, she trained in acting, theatre and film at Kadir Has University (Istanbul), ENS de Lyon (France), and the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique (CNSAD Paris). She has performed in numerous theatre, television, and film productions in Türkiye, France and Germany, and has worked with directors such as Ilker Çatak, Tristan Séguéla and Camille Lugan. Her first French-language play, "La Langue de Mon Père", was published by l’Espace d’Un Instant and was preselected for the Prix Sony Labou Tansi and Prix Godot. She performed this solo piece at major French theatres, including the Théâtre National de Strasbourg. In 2024, she received the Beaumarchais-SACD grant (France) for her second play, "Réductions Sauvages".
