Gaby Borges

Gaby Borges

For as far back as she can even form a memory, Gabriela "Gaby" Borges has been no stranger to the stage, screen or studio. Born on in Miami, Florida, the 24-year-old artist of Mexican descent realized her passion for dancing at age three. Having spent her childhood participating in salsa and hip-hop competitions, and performing for the junior Miami Heat and Florida Marlins dance troupes, it was her flair for the art that captured the attention of a talent scout from Univision who invited her to dazzle the stage on the iconic live television shows, Sábado Gigante and Don Francisco Presenta. After performing on TV, the nine-year-old dancer was led to hire a manager who specialized across multiple fields of talent, including television and music. Although Gaby had no prior acting experience, she was encouraged to audition for a Spanish-language soap opera. Always drawn to the unfamiliar, she decided to give it a shot. After a few monologue readings in both English and Spanish, Gaby was cast as Laurita Villanueva in the highly rated Venevisión telenovela, Eva Luna (2010-2011). As a child, Gaby used to sing in the car with such enthusiasm that her mother placed her in singing lessons. The classes especially paid off during the taping of the novela's finale, when Gaby suggested her character sing the timeless tune, "Ave María", for a wedding scene. Taking her advice, the crew filmed the nine-year-old's rendition, and once it aired, it became a heartwarming crowd-favorite among viewers. Adopting music as one of her most beloved passions, she started practicing consistently, publishing YouTube videos of herself singing covers to her favorite songs. The stars aligned when Latin Grammy award-winning record producer Sergio George discovered the child star and offered to sign her to his label, Top Stop Music. Upon accepting, Gaby joined the childrens' band, BKIDZ, which would perform Latin hits on popular live studio audience TV shows. Simultaneously, she flourished as an actress, landing voiceover commercials for big brands, including Macy's, Nintendo, and McDonalds, and getting cast on a multitude of popular TV shows, including Si Virginia (2013), Dora's Pirate Adventure (2014), Every Witch Way (2014), and Supergenios (2016), in which she - as the host - would instruct a group of young kids on a variety of academic subjects. Even through her teens, she continued to act in various soap opera roles, appearing as Jessica Águilar del Toro in the Telemundo novela Corazón Valiente (2012), and as Patricia 'Patti' Benitez in the Jenni Rivera biographical telenovela Mariposa del Barrio (2017). She took on more telenovela roles, performing in Voltea pa'que te enamores (2014), Milagros de Navidad (mini-series, 2017) and Eva la Trailera (2016). Even throughout her young adulthood, she's continued to dedicate time to the screen by acting in short films, including Tidings (2017), Project Gotham (2017), Thanks for Sharing (2018) and Cuba (2020). However, the more Gaby devoted herself to her singing, the more she was determined to grow as a musical artist, too. She explored different record labels, scoring a deal with English Global - owned by Latin hitmaker Maffio. The more she matured, though, the more she felt drawn toward creative freedom. At 23, Gaby is now an independent artist, creating music that authentically embodies the innovative and experimental woman she has evolved into today. Her intent remains constant throughout: to be 100% true to who she is as a person - a versatile explorer who fuses her myriad of passions with her creative curiosity. Influenced by multifaceted pop stars like Justin Bieber and Rihanna, as well as Urbano superstars like Karol G and Bad Bunny, Gaby's creative process is all but linear; rather, she focuses on building upon the concepts she feels when listening to different beats and melodies. As a co-writer on all of her songs, she draws inspiration from her own experiences, as well as from the world around her. That's where her acting skills step in, which allow her to become in tune with universal emotions in order to convey them in ways that resonate with others personally. She was able to integrate her theatrical abilities into the music video for her first official single since her rebirth as an independent artist - "Se Va" premiered on Feb. 16, 2022. The release symbolizes her debut as a musician who's in complete control of her creative path. One of her most recent single, "Gua Gua", is a reggaeton collaboration with Miami-based artist Kampi. Its music video premiered on April 8, 2022, and has already garnered almost half a million views on YouTube. Taking into account her history of extensive dance training and her lengthy list of acting credits earned, Gaby's ambition is to integrate her creative skills and experiences into her upcoming music releases as much as she can. Even as a young child, she never kept herself confined to one interest - concurrently devoting herself to acting, dancing and singing. Moving forward, the Mexican-American prodigy imprints her mark on her fans by shining as a symbol of limitlessness - proving that one can, in fact, do it all.
